STATES – Room To Run

Highly stylized aesthetics and lushly layered pop might be where to find the roots of States in terms of sound, but the essence of the band holds itself under the idea that creation comes from collaboration.
Formerly of Copeland and Lydia, the members of States found each other as those chapters in their lives came to a close and under the production guise of Aaron Sprinkle, each song’s eclectic axis became multi-layered portraits shedding light on what it took to get States to be a band.
Room to Run is about moving on as much as it is about the surprise of crafting songs free of hesitation.

THE OVERSEER – We Search, We Dig

Drawing inspiration from likeminded artists such as Thrice, Underoath, and As I Lay Dying, the Overseer delivers hard-hitting, uncompromising hard rock that belies the members’ young age. This isn’t ‘cash in on the latest trend’ music, it’s ‘sweat and tears’ hard rock, with a little blood thrown in for good measure.
‘I’d like to say that the music we write is more than just ‘in the moment,” says vocalist Anthony Rivera. ‘We’re looking to write something that stands the test of time, that people can look back on and still enjoy 10 years from now.’
The Overseer are living for the future, and it looks like a bright one indeed.

BELLARIVE – The Heartbeat

Orlando-based worship collective, Bellarive, use every instrument at their disposal, whether it be organic or synthetic, to creatively build the grand style of worship found on debut The Heartbeat. Lead singer, Sean Curran’s ethereal vocals have the unique ability to cut through lush string arrangements and sweeping guitar swells creating moments that are at the same time grandiose and intimate.
The Heartbeat finds a band striving to make music worthy of the Creator that also gives voice to a generation hungry for authentic and spirited worship.

ROCKY LOVES EMILY – Secrets Don’t Make Friends

There’s something of bipolarity on Secrets Don’t Make Friends. The pop-rock instrumentals create upbeat, outgoing melodies while the lyrics search for deeper, more introspective meaning. There are catchy rockers with propulsive guitar riffs and driving beats, embodying a sense of catharsis. And there are slower, more anthemic rock numbers, exploring the other end of the spectrum, showcasing the band’s musical range. Ultimately, though, the disc is whatever the listener needs it to be in the moment.
The album reveals a band with more confidence and self-awareness than ever – and that is evident in the songs.
